Quick facts about Signs of Sunshine

We have been getting many questions via email, and comments lately. Therefore, it seemed appropriate to answer them all in one post. Please feel free to contact us if you have further questions! We are always here to help!

“Where will my donations go?” – Currently we are fully operational in both Arizona, and Illinois. (Opening soon: California and Utah!)  However, we are a national organization, recognized by the IRS as a 501c3 Public Charity. (This means that your donations are tax deductible!) Your donations will help individuals (and their families)  with things such as medical equipment, wheelchair ramps, and modifications to their home or vehicle to make it more accessible and functional for them.  In addition to those things, we may fill a freezer full of food for a family while off work from a severe injury or illness. We may also help them with other needs such as utilities or transportation. Our goal is to assist in any way that we can,  to help make sure that an individual has the opportunity to recover, and live life to their fullest potential!  With your partnership and donation, we can provide these things to those who so desperately need our help! Together, we can spread “Signs of Sunshine” to so many in need!

“Can you help someone in another State?” – There is always a chance that we can help someone in another State! Not only are we expanding rapidly, but if it is something that we can make happen, we will certainly try our best! Please don’t hesitate to ask! Go to the “Send and S.O.S” page, and nominate someone you know today!
“Will I receive a donation receipt, and information about who my donation helped?” – Yes! If you you make a donation online, you will get a receipt immediately via Pay Pal. If you would like something directly from us, just ask, and we will get it to you! If you mail a check to us via the P.O. Box, we will send you a receipt via mail or email! You will receive a quarterly newsletter about what we have been doing at Signs of Sunshine! This newsletter will share some information about who we have helped, as well as all of the latest news about Signs of Sunshine!
“Can you hold a fundraiser for my friend?” – (or any one specific person) Because we are a Public Charity, we do not raise money for any one specific person. However, if that person is nominated for our services, or we are contacted about them, we will certainly make every effort possible to help them out!  Please don’t hesitate to ask us for help!!
“Do you have paid employees?” – No, we do not. There are currently no permanent paid positions at Signs of Sunshine. We do however, pay people for their services from time to time, one example of this could be a contractor doing a modification for us. (Although we make every attempt at getting volunteers for this as well! Please let us know if you are interested in donating time or materials!!)  Therefore, your money goes directly to helping others, which is exactly where we believe it should go!!

“Can I nominate myself?” –  Absolutely! We all need a hand when we are struck by a serious illness or injury. Please let us know your situation, and we will see what we can do!
